FAQ

1. What is HCG and how does it work?

HCG is a hormone naturally produced in the body. It has many functions and is used medically to treat a variety of conditions. It is the natural pregnancy hormone, but during pregnancy the levels double every two days. This hormone allows the body to mobilize fat and use it as energy for both mother and fetus. This acts as a “fail-safe” mechanism when energy is needed immediately. For weight loss, only a very small amount of HCG is used to capitalize on this same mechanism. Using HCG in this way does not mimic pregnancy; in fact, it can be safely used by both men and women.

2. How does Mediral homeopathic HCG formula work?

A homeopathic remedy actually starts out with HCG. However, it is diluted many times so that the drug is not actually contained in the bottle, but the energy of it is contained in the formula. It therefore, creates the exact same response in the body as daily HCG injections. The advantages are you can travel with it, it does not have to be refrigerated, it stays stable longer and X-3 Lean contains other beneficial substances to help balance the entire body.

3. Is HCG safe?

HCG is extremely safe. During pregnancy, women produce very high levels with no adverse effects. The small amount used for weight loss has no adverse side effects. In addition to losing abnormal fat, another positive utilization of HCG is in the successful treatment of breast and prostate cancer.

4. If HCG works so well for weight loss, why don’t pregnant women lose weight?

HCG works to mobilize fat for utilization by the body only when there is a significant decrease in calories and fat. A starvation state must exist for HCG to work. For weight loss, a very low calorie diet to trigger HCG to help rid the body of fat is necessary.

5. Will my metabolism slow down if I’m on a very low calorie diet?

Normally when one cuts back calories and fat, the body stores fat, compromises muscle and bone, and metabolism slows down. This happens because fat is really a life-saving source of stored energy. However, Dr. Simeons proved that when a very low calorie diet is used in conjunction with the HCG, the hormone signals the body to use stored fat for energy. This in turn, decreases excess fat reserves and does not compromise muscle. It’s a natural process, so no ill effects on metabolism result.

6. Wouldn’t I lose the same amount of weight eating a very low calorie diet without HCG?

People can lose weight by simply eating fewer calories and fat, but because the body stores fat during times of deprivation, muscle and bone will most likely be lost before fat. This causes cellular metabolism to slow down, so in the long run, it would make gaining weight easier, more storage of abnormal fat, as well as a decrease in bone density and muscle mass. By using HCG with the low calorie diet, extra abnormal fat is mobilized for energy and the rest is eliminated; the low calorie diet is vital in preventing immediate refilling of emptied fat cells. People benefit by getting rid of excess fat without affecting bone, muscle or metabolism.

7. The HCG diet is very low calorie, will I get hungry?

Because HCG mobilizes fat and makes it available to the body as an energy source, it naturally reduces appetite. Even though people are taking in fewer calories, the body can access the energy stored in fat cells. After about 2 days, many people notice a significant decrease in their appetite. Overall, most people have plenty of energy and feel good while on the program. For people who have continued hunger, it is generally either low blood sugar or yeast overgrowth issues.

8. Will HCG interfere with any medications I am currently taking, including birth control and HRT?

HCG does not interact with any medications when Dr. Simeons’ recommended dosage is followed. However, females taking unopposed synthetic estrogens should investigate a Bio-Identical hormone program with a qualified practitioner.

9. Will I experience any changes in my menstrual cycle taking HCG?

Because the amount of HCG is so small, there are generally no changes to a menstrual cycle. Likewise, HCG will not affect a female’s ability to become pregnant, nor will it increase chances of getting pregnant.

10. Why are some people calling HCG the “Weight Loss Cure”?

HCG is also being called the “Weight Loss Cure” because after taking it for weight loss, research indicates that it reprograms the body to use stored fat for energy when calories are reduced for a period of time. Or put another way, it helps people maintain weight and not regain the lost pounds if the maintenance protocol is followed.

11. How much weight can I expect to lose on the program?

On average, females lose 15 – 20 lbs. per month and men lose about 20 – 30 lbs per month. Some people lose as much as 10 to 12 lbs the first week, but the average is 5 to 7 lbs.

12. Does the weight loss slow down after the first month?

Many times a large amount of weight is lost in the first month and then the actual pounds on the scale decreases in a stair-step fashion. The remarkable thing is that pounds and inches are continuously lost while on the program. After a period of time, most people experience another large drop either on the scales and/or in the clothes size.

4 Tips for Maneuvering the HCG Diet

The HCG Diet is not being called the Weight Loss Cure for nothing! It offers amazing and unique weight loss results in an industry that has been crawling with supposedly effective diets for years. But there are a few points that can make or break your success on the program.

1. Stick to the diet. The way the HCG interacts with the body means you get significant weight loss, but it also means that if you introduce fatty foods or sugar to your body while it is under the effect of the HCG it will soak it up resulting in higher than normal weight gain in reaction to the foods ingested. So having that one bite or two of your favorite dessert or those yummy ribs at the neighbor’s barbeque will actually undo all the hard work you’ve put in for the entire day (or more).

2. Keep ready made meals on hand. The hardest time to stick to a diet is when you’re starving. And when you’re on a 500 calorie diet (even with the fabulous distraction from hunger that the HCG provides) you’re going to have moments when you feel like you HAVE to eat RIGHT NOW! So keep ready made meals on hand. Pull one of the recipes from the cookbook and make it or double it or whatever you think will work for you (and your family if you’re feeding the group) and then take the leftovers and package them up in handy individual size servings.

3. Test various herbal teas and flavors of Stevia until you come up with a combination that you like. This is the only “limitless” item on the HCG diet in addition to water so if you like it you’ll have a much easier time of it for the duration.

4. Take advantage of the “seasonings” you are allowed on the diet. Lemon juice in your water can make a huge difference. Have a variety of spices so that you feel like you’re having something new and exciting when you serve up another meal of grilled chicken. HCG dieters have even suggested that cutting up an apple and drizzling lemon juice on it serves as a very yummy dessert.
Sticking to the HCG diet is very possible. The low calorie diet in combination with the HCG’s effect on the body ensures that your body doesn’t go into starvation mode. You might psychologically be “starving” though so make sure to have a meal plan and stick to it. It will be easier once you start seeing the pounds fall off; and that happens for most almost immediately

Day One- Take the correct HCG dosage, (Inject or Sublingual dosage) don’t eat or drink for 15 minutes if you are doing the sublingual diet. Eat as much food as you can, Yes I said gorge your self, eat burgers, pizza, pie, pastries, anything with fat and calories. The HCG diet requires that you overload the body with fat and calories for the first 2 days before starting the low calorie diet. This will help you not to be hungry on your third day.

Day two- Repeat day one… PIG OUT!!!!!!!

Day Three- Take HCG in the right dosage, you will start eating the correct low calorie food in the required amounts drink 1/2 gallon to one gallon of water until the end of your diet cycle (21-42 days)

This is Dr. Simeons diet recommendations for food intake for the diet..
Breakfast
Tea or coffee in any quantity without sugar. Only one tablespoonful of milk allowed in 24 hours. Saccharin or Stevia may be used.

Lunch
1. 100 grams of veal, beef, chicken breast, fresh white fish, lobster, crab, or shrimp. All visible fat must be carefully removed before cooking, and the meat must be weighed raw. It must be boiled or grilled without additional fat. Salmon, eel, tuna, herring, dried or pickled fish are not allowed. The chicken breast must be removed from the bird. The 100 grams of meat must be scrupulously weighed raw after all visible fat has been removed.

2. One type of vegetable only to be chosen from the following: spinach, chard, chicory, beet-greens, green salad, tomatoes, celery, fennel, onions, red radishes, cucumbers, asparagus, cabbage.

3.One breadstick (grissino) or one Melba toast.

4. An apple or a handful of strawberries or one-half grapefruit.

Dinner:
The same four choices as lunch.

The juice of one lemon daily is allowed for all purposes. Salt, pepper, vinegar, mustard powder, garlic, sweet basil, parsley, thyme, majoram, etc., may be used for seasoning, but no oil, butter or dressing.

Tea, coffee, plain water, or mineral water are the only drinks allowed, but they may be taken in any quantity and at all times.

In fact, you should drink about 2 liters of these fluids per day. Many people are afraid to drink so much because they fear that this may make them retain more water. This is a wrong notion as the body is more inclined to store water when the intake falls below its normal requirements.

Fruit or a breadstick may be eaten between meals instead of with lunch or dinner, but not more than four items listed for lunch and dinner may be eaten at one meal.

No medicines or cosmetics other than lipstick, eyebrow pencil and powder may be used.

Every item in the list should be gone over carefully, continually stressing that no variations other than those listed may be introduced. Anything not listed is forbidden.
